Abstract. Nosocomial infections (or healthcare-associated infections) can greatly affect public health. The prevention and control of nosocomial infections rely on effective training of medical personnel on the correct use of personal prevention equipment (PPE). We introduce a virtual reality (VR) method that simulates the real environment of a hospital and supports repeated immersive practice of PPE donning
and doffing. A VR prototype is created and receives positive feedback from a domain expert. The effectiveness of our method will be evaluated in a comparative user study.
